Geeklab Coastal Boat Rentals

8 September 2026

So you can run the site yourself.

Hi Myburgh

Thanks for writing. You asked for four things: a refresh of a few sections, more boats on the listings, a way to set each boat’s daily price yourself, and your own login so you do not have to wait on us.

We can do all of that on the site you already have. It is WordPress, with the booking system Rudolf already uses for WhatsApp bookings. We will not rebuild the shop or swap that booking plugin. You will manage the fleet and daily rates in a Google Sheet. The website will pick those up. Customers keep booking the way they do now.

This week we also aligned a few public facts (deposit, fuel, skipper rules, contact details) and switched on Google Search Console and Analytics. That work is done. This page is what comes next.

What we will set up

You can go ahead with all four, or start with the login and the Google Sheet and add boats as the photos arrive.

1. Your own login

A WordPress account in your name, sent to the email you choose. You will be able to edit boats, prices, bookings, photos and pages. You will not see the plugin list, so a wrong click cannot take the shop down. If you later want the full admin role, we can raise it after a short walkthrough.

Hosting is separate from WordPress. Day-to-day fleet work lives in WordPress. If you also want the hosting panel (backups, DNS), we will send that as a second invite once we confirm the host allows a client user.

2. A Google Sheet for the fleet

One spreadsheet: boat name, whether it is listed, the default daily rate in rand, a weekend or peak rate if you use one, passengers, horsepower, skipper rule, SAMSA notes. Change a cell. The website updates the booking calendar. Customers still pick dates on the site the same way they do today.

We will sit with you for 30 minutes and walk through the first rate change together.

3. More boats on the fleet

New listings on the home page and the boats page, with the same facts customers already see: passengers, horsepower, skipper rule, SAMSA notes, and the daily rate. You send photos and specs. We load the first batch and show you how to add the next one.

4. A light design refresh

Not a new website. The sections people use: the home page, the boat cards, the boats catalogue, and the path from booking to contact. Same Knysna warehouse, clearer type, fewer repeated lines, photos that match the boat they sit on. We stay in the builder you already have, so you can still edit the pages yourself.

How you will work after handover

Open the fleet and daily rates Google Sheet. Change Explorer’s daily rate. Mark a boat as draft if it is in the workshop. Add a new row when a boat is ready. WordPress copies those rates into the booking calendar. Rudolf can keep WhatsApp for customers who prefer to message. You set the daily price in the sheet. Customers still pick dates on the site.

We will leave you a one-page guide: edit a rate, add a boat, block a date, add a photo. If something breaks, Geeklab is still the host. You are not on your own.

What we need from you to start

Email us or book the call. These six things get the work moving. Photos can follow in a shared album.

1
The email for your login. We will send the WordPress invite there. Add Rudolf’s email if he should have one too.
2
How many new boats, and when they are ready. Name, length, motor, passengers, skipper ticket or not, SAMSA category, default daily rate.
3
Photos. One honest wide shot per boat, plus two or three details. Phone photos are fine if they are sharp and taken in daylight.
4
How you think about price. A weekday default, a weekend or peak add-on, and any dates that always carry a special rate (December, Easter, Knysna events).
5
Which sections to refresh first. We recommend Home, Boats, and the booking path. Say if About or Contact should move with them.
6
Whether you want the hosting panel as well. Most owners only need WordPress. Say yes if you also want backups and DNS in your own login.

Timing

This week

Access

Your WordPress login, a 30-minute walkthrough, and a decision on hosting-panel access.

Weeks 1 to 2

Sheet and boats

Fleet-and-rates Google Sheet live, updating the booking calendar. First new boats listed as soon as photos and specs arrive.

Weeks 2 to 3

Refresh and handover

Home, boats, and the booking path tightened. A written guide plus a recorded walkthrough you can keep.

Access and the walkthrough are part of the project, not a separate ticket.

Investment

Fixed project fee

R30,000.00 ex VAT

Payable over a 6-month payment plan: R5,000.00 ex VAT per month for six months.

This covers the login, the Google Sheet, the first new boat listings, the design refresh, and the handover. VAT is added on each invoice.

Next step

Book 30 minutes, or reply with the six items.

We will share the Google Sheet on a call, take your login email, and agree which boats go up first. If you would rather write, email Jared at jared@geeklab.co.za and we will start from there.
